Newa Ghasa Patan, which opened in 2019, is more than just a restaurant; it’s a symbol of women’s empowerment in Nepal’s hospitality industry. For the past two years and more, the restaurant has been fully operated by a 100% women team. From the kitchen to service and daily operations, every aspect is handled by women. This makes Newa Ghasa Patan Nepal’s first fully women-operated restaurant, a legacy that continues proudly to this day.

Following Patan’s success, the Maharajgunj branch is now close to completing one full year as a fully women-led outlet. The team there manages all responsibilities confidently, ensuring the same standard of service and authentic Newari cuisine.

Recently, the Basantapur branch also became fully women-operated, and by the end of this year, the Sorhakhutte branch will transition to a complete women’s team. Very soon, all Newa Ghasa branches will be fully women-empowered, reinforcing our commitment to equality and professional growth in hospitality.

All Newa Ghasa branches are managed by Shivansh Hospitality Management (SHM), which ensures consistent quality, traditional recipes, and smooth operations across outlets.

By supporting women-led teams, Newa Ghasa not only preserves authentic Best Newari food in Kathmandu traditions such as samay baji, chhoila, yomari, bara, chatamari, and aila but also provides economic empowerment and leadership opportunities for women in Nepal.
